The Salvador Dali Museum is an art museum in St. Petersburg, Florida, dedicated to the works of Salvador Dali. It is located in the United States city of St. Petersburg. It is located on the waterfront in downtown St. Petersburg, between Bay Shore Drive, 5th Avenue Southeast, Drive, and the Dan Wheldon Way.

The surrealist-inspired museum construction, which is estimated to have cost more than $30 million, includes a massive glass entryway and a skylight constructed of 1.5-inch-thick glass, among other elements. Enigma is the name given to the large glass doorway that rises to 75 feet in height and incorporates a spiral staircase. The remaining walls are constructed of 18-inch-thick concrete, which is intended to protect the collection from storms that occasionally affect the region. We are a member of the American Alliance of Museums (AAM) and the North American Reciprocal Museums program, both of which are national organizations.

The museum hosts a number of different events that are suitable for families to visit. Performances, seminars, films, talks, various sorts of fundraisers, and food and beverage events are just a few examples of what you may expect. Many prior events provided attendees with the opportunity to participate in handcrafted Christmas card workshops, where they were able to design their very own holiday card that included a Dali theme. Additionally, there have been weekly poetry performances and lectures such as coffee with a curator, a presentation on a theme-oriented topic that examines a variety of issues in relation to Dali, and a presentation on a theme-oriented topic that explores a variety of topics in relation to Dali

An significant archive library complements the museum’s collection, which comprises 96 oil paintings and over 100 watercolors and drawings, 1,300 graphics, photographs, sculptures and objects d’art, and a large collection of photographs. Approximately 7500 books are housed at the Museum Library together with exhibition/sale catalogs, film, sound recordings, and special collections pertaining to Dali’s life, Surrealism, and the Avant-Garde movements. In addition, the library has acquired the collection of Albert Field, a New York collector and Dali archivist, who donated it to the institution.

Recently, the museum inaugurated a new exhibit titled “Dali Lives,” which makes use of artificial intelligence to allow visitors to connect with a modern-day Dali in an interactive environment. It is planned to open a new exhibit in July 2020 called “At Home with Dali” at the museum. Five photographers – Horst. P. Horst, Ricardo Sans, Melitó Casals, Lies Wiegman, and Robert Descharnes – have contributed to this exhibition, which presents a diverse group of portraits. The approximately 40 photographs, which date from the 1950s to the early 1960s, provide an intimate perspective of Dali in his native Spain, where he spent the majority of his life. These rarely seen photographs provide an insight into Dali’s personal life and are worth seeing. Each year, many temporary exhibitions are staged in addition to the permanent collection displays that rotate on a regular basis.
